Where do your organic products come from?
We source our organic products from Germany.
What is Bio?
The term "Bio," short for "Biologisch" in German, is used to denote organic products. It signifies that the product has been produced using organic farming methods, which emphasize environmentally sustainable and natural agricultural practices, such as avoiding synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, promoting soil health, and often adhering to strict certification standards. In essence, "Bio" indicates that the product is grown or produced in a manner that is better for both human health and the environment.
Why do you import organic products from Germany?
Germany, as one of the leading countries in the organic industry, it has a strong tradition of organic agriculture and a well-established certification system, which contributes to the higher standards in Bio organic certification and a robust enforcement.
Are all of your products Bio certified?
Yes. Our food products are organic bio-certified. Our household and personal care items are made with natural ingredients only.
How is Bio certification from Germany different from Organic?
German "Bio" certification is often considered to adhere to high certification standards compared to some other organic certifications because it follows the stringent organic farming regulations set by the European Union (EU). These EU organic standards provide a comprehensive framework that includes strict requirements for organic farming practices, such as the prohibition of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, restrictions on GMOs, and guidelines for animal welfare.
What organic certifications do your products carry?
In Germany, there are several well-known organic certification seals that ensure the quality and authenticity of organic products. Our products carry one or several of these most prominent organic certificates: Bioland, Demeter, Naturland, EU organic and German Bio-Siegel.
Why are organic products better than conventional?
Organic food is often considered better than conventional food due to its reduced exposure to synthetic pesticides and chemicals, which can be harmful to human health. For example, studies have shown that, on average, organic crops and crop-based foods contain 48% lower concentrations of heavy metals such as Cadmium (Cd) (increases risks of cancer) than conventional crops. In addition, organically grown food in average contains more nutrients compared to converntion food.
Organic food is expensive. How do you guarantee affordable price on high-quality organic products?
We source directly from our suppliers, partner with shipping and delivery providers to secure a cost-efficient service and keep a lean operations model to ensure that we can offer competitive prices on our high-quality organic products.
Do you offer natural household and personal care products?
We will be shortly expanding our offer to household and personal care items. Our household and personal care items are made with natural ingredients only and contain no preservatives and other harmful chemicals.
Do you offer gluten-free products?
We currently offer gluten-free grains such as buckwheat and quinoa. And will be expanding our gluten-free range to offer more gluten-free products across all food categories.
What is the difference between muesli and cereal?
Muesli and cereal are both breakfast options, but they differ in their ingredients and preparation. Muesli typically consists of a mixture of rolled oats, dried fruits, nuts, and seeds, often consumed after soaking in milk or yogurt. Cereal, on the other hand, encompasses a wide range of processed grain-based breakfast foods, including options like cornflakes, rice cereals, and wheat-based cereals, which are typically eaten dry or with milk. Cereals often undergo more processing and may contain added sugars, flavors, and other ingredients, while muesli is generally less processed and more healthy.
Do your products contain sugar?
Some of our products contain raw sugar. Raw sugar is considered better than white sugar due to its minimal processing. Raw sugar retains some of the natural molasses and contains trace amounts of minerals and nutrients like calcium, potassium, and iron that are stripped away in the production of white sugar.
How do you contribute to sustainability?
By opting for organic foods, we support farming practices that prioritize soil health, reduce chemical use, and promote biodiversity. This helps protect the environment and maintain healthier ecosystems.
Simultaneously, we choose sustainable packaging options such as glass and paper over plastic, which reduces our reliance on non-biodegradable materials that contribute to environmental pollution and waste. Glass and paper are recyclable and biodegradable, which reduces the long-term impact of packaging on our planet.
These choices collectively contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle, helping to minimize our ecological footprint and support a healthier, more environmentally responsible future.
